“A really efficient totalitarian state would be one in which the all-powerful executive of political bosses and their army of managers control a population of slaves who do not have to be coerced, because they love their servitude. To make them love it is the task assigned, in present-day totalitarian states, to ministries of propaganda, newspaper editors and schoolteachers…. The greatest triumphs of propaganda have been accomplished, not by doing something, but by refraining from doing. Great is truth, but still greater, from a practical point of view, is silence about truth.”

“Most people prefer to believe their leaders are just and fair even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because most people don’t want to admit they don’t have the courage to do anything about it.”Politician is the last sub-species whose words I would consider under attention and consideration”Most propaganda is not designed to fool the critical thinker but only to give moral cowards an excuse not to think at all”

“When psychopaths are the policy makers in government and the CEOs of big business, the way they think and reason – their ‘morality’ – becomes the common culture and ‘morality’ of the population over which they preside. When this happens, the mind of the population is infected in the way a pathogen infects a physical body. The only way to protect ourselves against this pathological thinking is to inoculate ourselves against it, and that is done by learning as much as possible about the nature of psychopathy and its influence on us. Essentially, this particular ‘disease’ thrives in an environment where its very existence is denied, and this denial is planned and deliberate”

“Governments seem to work very hard to provide as many distractions in people’s daily lives as they can. This is because if you can keep the population living on the edge all the time they end up so caught up with the rigors of daily modern life, getting to work, paying the bills, looking out for the kids, worrying about the economy, the college fund, the groceries, the neighbors, terrorists, God, taxes, fine print, the environment and keeping up with the Jones, they don’t really notice, or even often care, about looking at the bigger picture to see what’s going on all around them, let alone what may have happened in the past.”
