A versifier with neither heart nor soul is, rather than a poet, a dull and lifeless thinking pen or keyboard.

A book is a wonderful present. You can open it as many times as you like and each time there’s something different inside.

    “It’s sarcasm, Josh.”

    “Sarcasm?”

“It’s from the Greek, sarkasmos. To bite the lips. It means that you aren’t really saying what you mean, but people will get your point.I invented it, Bartholomew named it.”

“Well, if the village idiot named it, I’m sure it’s

    a good thing.”

“There you go, you got it.”

    “Got what?”

    “Sarcasm.”

    “No, I meant it.”

    “Sure you did.”

    “Is that sarcasm?”

    “Irony, I think.”

    “What’s the difference?”

    “I haven’t the slightest idea.”

“So you’re being ironic now, right?”

    “No, I really don’t know.”

“Maybe you should ask the idiot.”

    “Now you’ve got it.”

    “What?”

    “Sarcasm.”

If a poet leaves behind a line that speaks for all time, is that not a glimpse of eternity?

    I fell for you like

    shooting star from the sky

    Ask me anything

and I swear I wont lie

for I am an open book,

    with lots of chapters too

I wish you opened me sometime,

    then only you would knew

We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. So medicine, law, business, engineering... these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love... these are what we stay alive for.
